And How To Recover, Permanently, Without Medication.

As a man who has suffered with depression in the past, I know the signs that come up when a fellow male is heading down that dark path.

You may even be suffering with mild depression without even knowing it.

That’s the best time to start implementing habits to get you off that path, before it gets really bad and is then much harder to recover from. Not impossible, but harder.

Sign #1 - You are losing interest in things you used to enjoy:

This could be work, hobbies, or even your wife…

How Many Of Your Meals Do You Eat Mindfully?

Eating mindfully can have many beneficial effects.

When we are fully conscious, fully focused on our plate of food, the food is much more enjoyable.

When we don’t allow ourselves to be distracted by anything else, we can find joy in the process of eating rather than just stuffing it in and getting it down as fast as possible.

This also aids digestion and will lessen the chance of heartburn.

We chew more thoroughly and so digestion is easier and more complete.

We then extract more nutrients from the food.

This one single practice, executed consistently on a daily basis, can eliminate a busy mind.

.

There was a point in time when my mind was really busy, always thinking about past events or future events that may or may not occur.

.

Thankfully that is a thing of the past.

.

No longer is my mind running wild.

.

And that is specifically down to a daily practice that I’ve honed over many months, in fact it’s years now.

.

That skill is Mindfulness.

.

You too can have a calm, content, worry-free mind.

.

If you choose to…

This one little habit, executed consistently, could change your life.

.

When we are depressed we always focus on the bad. The negative. The unhelpful.

.

It’s difficult to see the positive in anything.

.

I know, I’ve been there.

.

But, one of the ways I got myself out of that place (without medication or outdated, time consuming therapy) was to ‘bank the good’.

.

There are always things that we can find in our lives to be grateful for, we just choose not to.

.

Being grateful for something in your life puts you temporarily into a positive…

When I was in the darkness, my identity was lost.

.

That voice inside my head (which was me by the way), told me I was a failure. That I was doomed forever. That I would never achieve my lifetime goals because it wasn’t meant to be. I wasn’t strong enough. That I was hopeless.

.

Sometimes I listened.

.

Most of the time I didn’t.

.

And that’s what allowed me to break free.

.

I’ve done a lot of personal development over the years.

.

What I didn’t do was implement everything I learned.

.

I just implemented…

I realised the other day that I had achieved my lifetime goal.

.

That goal was set a long time ago and took me a long time to achieve.

.

I hadn’t even realised that I had achieved it.

.

But I had realised that I had stagnated.

.

I had stopped progressing.

.

I had stopped moving forward.

.

My lifetime goal was to be content, worry-free, and free from the pain of depression, anxiety and addiction.

.

I had been chasing that for a long time.

.

There were times that I never thought I would achieve it.

We all have limiting beliefs.

.

We put ourselves in ‘boxes’ according to these beliefs, halting our progression in life.

.

That’s ok.

.

We all do it.

.

But, we can all change those beliefs too.

.

We can put ourselves in different boxes.

.

We do that by changing our thinking around a belief.

.

Let’s take addiction as an example…

.

If we have an addiction of some sort, there will always be a positive intention attached to it.

.

Whether it’s to numb ourselves.

.

To escape the world.

.

To not deal with problems.

.

It’s FREE, and you can start doing it today…

.

What we focus on, will become our reality — Our field of vision.

.

If we focus on what we are lacking all the time, we will live a life of misery.

.

If we change our focus to search for the things that are good in our life, that too will become our field of vision.

.

We will automatically start to look for the good things in our life, rather than automatically looking for what’s wrong in our lives.

.

On top of that if we also focus…

Now, I don’t know if this is true or not. All I can speak from is my own experience…

When I was in the darkness. In the depths of depression. Playing the professional victim. Blaming my external circumstances on why I felt so bad. Being angry and resentful at the people around me and the rest of the world too.

I thought only in negative thought loops. Never focusing on the positive. Always negative.

Now, that is obviously going have an effect on the way I feel and act or react to situations. It may even have had an effect on my…

If you already have depression, or addiction, you are probably missing this one thing…

A couple of years ago, I was a full-time dad. Stay at home dad. Whatever you wanna call it.

I had a purpose. I loved it.

But, when you have 3 little-uns to look after it becomes a bit stressful.

I became isolated.

I had no escape i.e work.

No social life.

That’s when it turned from a passionate purpose into just a purpose. A purpose I had no choice in. It’s just what I had to do.

I still loved my kids. And there were…
